Obituary: SEDOR – Lois Jean, 78, Ebensburg, died April 10, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born April 8, 1933, in Erhenfeld, daughter of Paul and Elva (Kelly) Simendinger. Preceded in death by parents and husband, Joseph. Survived by children, Kathryn (Karl) Kimmerling, South Carolina; Diane (Donald) Platt, Ebensburg; Paul Sedor, Ebensburg; Patricia (Edwin) Schwer, St. Mary’s; and Joan (John) Salm, Virginia; 14 grandchildren; and four great-grand children. Sister of Arlene McKinnon, Virginia; Paul Simendinger, Florida; Robert Simendinger, Nanty Glo; and Leona Simendinger, Johnstown. Also survived by special friend, John Gongloff. Member of Red Hat Society, VFW Auxiliary Post 4963 and Senior Citizens, all of Ebensburg. Lois was an avid bingo player, going on trips and working her puzzle books. Lois worked the election poll in the Ebensburg Center Ward for many years and was also a 4-H leader. Lois also had perfect attendance for her 12 years of schooling. Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Wednesday at Matevish and Matevish Funeral Home, Ebensburg. Funeral Mass will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Holy Name Catholic Church, Ebensburg, the Rev. Monsignor Arnold L. Gaus. Entombment, Holy Name Mausoleum, Ebensburg. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Name Church or Ebensburg Senior Center in Lois’ memory.
