Obituary: STEPHENS – Donna Jean (Mort), 69, of Nanty Glo, went to be with the Lord Feb. 2, 2011 , after a long courageous battle with cancer. Born April 26, 1941 in Twin Rocks, daughter of the late Fred and Anna (Pasko) Mort. Preceded in death by infant sister, Florence; brothers, Fred, Steve, and Eugene; sisters, Ruth and Edith; and grandson, Jeremy Stephens. Survived by husband, Robert, of 52 years; and children, Roxanne, Robert, Christine and William. Grandchildren, Vanessa Stephens and Alicia Kasecky. Great Grandchildren, Dominick, Preston, Madeline and Remy. Also survived by sister, Evelyn Mucha; brother, Edward (Maryanne) Mort; special family members, Deb Wakefield, Craig Camell, Tamela Stephens and Tammy Stephens; as well as numerous nieces and nephews; and many special friends. Donna loved to fish; and bake, which all her family and friends loved. Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 pm Sunday at the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 11am Monday, the Rev. Martin Cingle, officiating. Interment, United Brethren Cemetery, Belsano. In lieu of flowers donations in Donna’s memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
