Obituary: KENDRA - Alexander, 73, Strongstown, died April 19, 2008, at home. Born Feb. 26, 1935, in Strongstown, son of the late Stanley Sr. and Agnes (Zrepka) Kendra. Preceded in death by wife, Edith; son, Alexander Kendra Jr.; grandson, Ryan Todd Kendra; brothers, William Nedwreski, Jacob Nedwreski, Joseph Nedresky, George Nedresky and Tillio Kendra; and sister, Verna Nedresky. Survived by children, Michael Kendra, and wife, Audrey, Charden, Ohio; Robert Kendra, and wife, Tina, Wellington, Ohio; Thomas Kendra, and wife, Sherry, Hedgesville, W.Va.; Sharon Zavalanski, and husband, Michael, Gainesville, Va.; Joseph Kendra, and wife, Angela, Sterling, Va.; 11 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and a brother, Stanley Kendra, Strongstown. A member of Church of the Resurrection, Heilwood. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp., Johnstown, after 12 years and Mine 33, Ebensburg, after 29 years, and was a member of UMWA Local 1986. He was a social member of Nanty Glo VFW. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Bowser-Ondriezek Funeral Home, Nanty Glo. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Church of the Resurrection, Heilwood, with the Rev. Father Paul Lisik. Interment, St. Patrick's Cemetery, Camerons Bottom.
